The Smart Way To Stock Up

Nobody likes a hoarder, but it just makes sense to stock up right now. So what’s the smart way to stock up? And what should we be buying?

The experts say fruits like buying bananas, apples, grapefruit, oranges and clementines is a good idea. Unripe bananas will ripen over the course of several days, so you can enjoy them as you go. You can also slice and freeze them for snacking.

When it comes to veg, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, peppers and cauliflower are good. When they’re unwashed and uncut, they stay fresh for several days. Carrots (in the refrigerator) and potatoes (on the counter) last even longer.

And as much as I would prefer steak, chickpeas, lentils, black beans, and other beans make a great protein source to stock up on.

Oh, and canned fish is good too. I could eat albacore every day, but that’s not a good idea. A couple of times a week works.

And you might not have ever done it, but freezing some milk is a GREAT idea right now.
