A shift in power in the NBA.

NBA free agency is officially open . . . and last night, things got started in a BIG way with KEVIN DURANT announcing that he's leaving the Golden State Warriors, after helping them win two titles in three years.

Durant got a huge deal with the New Jersey Nets, which is worth $164 million over four years. And really, it's just THREE years, because he ruptured his right Achilles tendon in the Finals last month, and he's expected to miss ALL of next season.

Still, it's the largest contract for an NBA player that changed teams in free agency, which is wild considering the seriousness of the injury.

Durant could've gotten five years and about $221 million from the Warriors, but he wanted out.By the way, Durant will be 31 this year.

Flat-Earther KYRIE IRVING will join him in New Jersey, along with DEANDRE JORDAN.But again, Durant isn't expected to play until the 2020-2021 season.
